IBL FAQ’s

Q – How much does it cost to play?

A – For the 18+, 25+, 35+, and 45+ divisions it costs approximately $325 a player plus the cost of the team jersey on most teams.  The HTA and 55+ divisions are approximately $250 a player plus the cost of the team jersey on most teams.  Your player fee must be paid in full and a waiver signed must be signed before you play your first game.  Both can be done on our IBL website.

Q – How many games do we play?

A – For the 18+, 25+, 35+, and 45+ divisions the IBL plays 15 regular season games with every team playing at least 1 playoff game.  The HTA and 55+ divisions play 10 regular season games with every team playing at least 1 playoff game.

Q – What equipment do I need?

A – You will need to provide your own baseball pants, helmet that is legal for play in baseball, baseball shoes, team hat, and an adult sized wood bat.  Your jersey will be provided to you usually at your cost through the team manager.

Q – What kind of baseball shoes do I need?

A – Metal spikes are allowed on any natural surface we play any game on.  Metal spikes are not allowed on any artificial surfaces we play on.  However, you are allowed to wear rubber molded, TPU, or turf shoes on artificial surfaces.  There is a fine for breaking this rule.

Q – What is an example of a fine?

A – If your game is scheduled to play on an artificial surface and you wear metal spikes, then are caught by a field rep, they can fine the league up to $500.  That fine is passed down to the team that violated the rule.  The field rep can also ban the league from any future play as well.  We take any field rules, our IBL rules, and the MLB rules we follow very serious.

Q – Where can I find the rules?

A – The IBL rules are posted on the main page of the IBL website and is everyone’s responsibility for knowing them.  Most of the time, the fields that we are guests at have their special rules posted.  If it is not posted in the IBL rule book, we default to MLB rules.
