February 21st 2008 - From the Indy Star:
Philip J. Bickle passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Phil was a
1968 graduate of Penn State University and worked for over 30 years in
Institutional Food Service. He married Cathy Toney in 1967 who survives
along with their three children, Philip Jr., Paul, and Marcus. He is
father-in-law to Kristin and Laura and grandfather to Aaron, Sam,
Austin, John, Mary and Molly. He was preceded in death by his parents
Raymond and Madeline Stine Bickle and siblings William, Nelson, Mazie
Brown, and Jay. Surviving siblings include Wayne and Ron Bickle, Patsy
Behrers, and Doris Korman. A memorial mass will be held at St. Simon
the Apostle Catholic Church, 8155 Oaklandon Road, Indianapolis at 11 AM
on Saturday, February 23rd. A family visitation will be held at the
church for one hour preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, please
send donations to St. Augustine's HomeLittle Sisters of the Poor 2345
W. 86th St, Indianapolis, IN.
Phil also played in the IABL for several years and last season the MSBL 48 Division named their opening night "Phil Bickle Night". Click Here for the Story and Pictures.
