Welcome to the Indianapolis Adult Baseball League.
There are four age divisions within our organization.
MABL 18+ for players 18 and older (Metal Bat)
MSBL 28+ for players 28 and older (Metal Bat)
MSBL 35+ for players 35 and older (Wood Bat 60%, Metal Bat 40%)
MSBL 45+ for players 45 and older (Wood Bat Only)
You are eligible for a league if you reach the minimum age by December 31 of the calendar year.
You can plan on playing 12 to 20 games depending on the age division. Our season starts in mid April and ends by Labor Day. The MABL and MSBL 28+ play primarily on Sunday afternoons at 12:30 PM and 3:30 PM. The MSBL 35+ plays on Wednesday nights at 7:00 PM. The MSBL 45+ plays on Monday nights at 7:00 PM.
We play on high school and college diamonds in the Indianapolis area.
Players and Teams are not limited to residents of Indianapolis. Teams travel from Logansport, Lafayette and Kokomo to participate and players drive from all over central Indiana to play in the league.
You will need to purchase your own equipment. Most teams have batting helmets, and some have catchers gear.
The league is a not for profit organization that is run by it's membership. Our officers, while they receive some monetary compensation, are players in the league who volunteer their time to keep the IABL Central Indiana's premier adult baseball league.
Try-outs and the draft are held in February of each year and you will be notified of the dates and fees associated with the events by e-mail. The deadline for teams to turn in final rosters is in mid March. If you are not on a team by then, you will remain on our prospective player list and be notified if an opening on a team occurs. We will do our utmost to place all players on a team.
In order to be notified you need to sign up for the web site. You will be placed on the appropriate prospective player list from the information that you provide. Teams are also encouraged to apply for membership. If you have a team you want to enter, please make note of that in the comments area when you sign up for the web site.
Thank you for your interest in the IABL. |
